What AGADD is, and is not

AGADD (Airmen and Guardians Against Drunk Driving) is a volunteer coordination platform: it connects service members who need a safe ride home with volunteers who offer one, for free. AGADD is not a transportation carrier, not a rideshare company, and not affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of War or any government entity. Volunteers are private individuals acting on their own; they are not employees, contractors, or agents of AGADD.

AGADD is not an emergency service. If you or someone with you is in danger or needs medical help, call 911.

Eligibility

Riding requires a valid Common Access Card, shown to the driver at pickup, for you and every passenger. Using AGADD requires being an adult capable of agreeing to these terms.

Volunteer drivers

Volunteers drive their own vehicles under their own licenses and their own insurance, and they affirm all of that in the volunteer agreement before their base coordinator approves them. AGADD does not own vehicles, employ drivers, set schedules, or pay anyone.

Assumption of risk

Riding in any vehicle carries risk. By requesting a ride you accept transport from a volunteer driver as what it is: a private individual giving you a free ride in their personal vehicle. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you assume the risks of that transport, and AGADD, its coordinators, and its volunteers are not liable for injuries, losses, or damages arising from a ride, except where caused by conduct the law does not allow to be waived.

No guarantee of availability

AGADD runs on volunteers. There may be nights, or hours, when nobody is available. The app shows you the live count of drivers on shift; a request is a request, not a promise. Always have a backup plan for getting home, and never treat the possibility of an AGADD ride as a reason to drive yourself.

Conduct

Treat volunteers with respect; they are unpaid people getting you home at 2 a.m. Coordinators may suspend riders or drivers for unsafe or abusive behavior. Problems can be reported in the app; reports go to your base coordinator.

Messages

Signing in uses a text message code, and the app sends push notifications about your rides. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can disable push notifications in your device settings.

The service, as is

AGADD is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AGADD and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your use of the service.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change as the program grows; the current version always lives at this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
